The Culligan Niagara dealership was started in 1952 in St. Catharines, ON by four forward-thinking businessmen. In 1956 John Lamothe purchased the franchise from these partners. At that time the business was located in St.Catharines on 20 Grote Street next to the Lever's potato chips factory - Behind what is Dairy Queen on Geneva St now. In 1963 the business relocated to 27 Maywood Avenue and in 1979 moved to the present location at 94 Dunkirk Road in St. Catharines.
The present owner, Ike Langendoen started working with Mr. Lamothe on Feb 14th, 1958, and started purchasing shares in 1969. In 1976 Ike together with partner Rob Stinson bought the store outright. Ike subsequently became the sole owner in 1997 and together with his wife Tess and son Steve manage Culligan Niagara.
